I have finished all course work and began working on the Final Exam. My group submitted our first group assignment and recieved a score of 50/50. We have already divided the work to begin working on our second group assignment, the crosswalk.

6/12-6/17

This week I have complete the remainder of the text requirements. Chapters 14-15 were especially interesting to me. The idea of motivation is a major issue. As with any profession, the lack of motivation often times makes things stale. A stale curriculum is not congruent with student learning. Students need to be engaged to learn and a lack of motivation from educators will often do more harm than good. Good leadership needs to start with administration that are committed to learning and then passed on to teachers who can then pass that love on to students.

6/6-6/10

I have complete the first 8 chapters of the text book up to this point. I really have a much better grasp on vision and how it plays into the administrators role as a community leader. The assignments have been very challenging and thought provoking. Chapter 8 was very interesting in that it made me really think about the things that my current administrator simply instructs us to do compared to what he allows us, the faculty, the opportunity to choose or have a say in. It really gets you to thinking about how you will act when/if given the opportunity to be in a leadership situation.
